Electronic village of Abingdon "91st Day" Subcommittee MINUTFS 31 May, 2000 12:30 PM The
scheduled meeting of the Electronic Village of Abingdon "91st Day"
Subcommittee held in the Johnston Memorial Hospital Cafeteria was opened by
Dr. F. H. Moore, Jr., Chairman. There were ten participants present. These
included:
The
minutes of the 3 May 2000 meeting were approved as presented. The
next item for review was the status of new connections, including:
The
only other items for discussion on the agenda included a progress report on
proposed extensions of the fiber trunk. The
Trooper’s Alley extension to the Abingdon Fire Department at 316 Park Street
was reported as in progress with Purchase Orders issued by the Town to Sprint
for such work. Additionally, a
contract for lease of electronics equipment from the TelImagine Co. has been
signed and accompanying deposit check returned to that company via overnight
letter service on 26 May. The
second of these extensions is a short one from the present terminus at
Highlands Union Bank along Russell Road over to the general vicinity of
Latture Field in order to serve the proposed new Police Department and the
recreation buildings at that location. This
project is under evaluation for cost and that information will be forthcoming
at a later meeting. One
other item worthy of note was reported by Dr. Moore. That was that the current owner of the
proposed Industrial Park had accepted the Town’s offer and that project will
probably be underway shortly. The
date of the next meeting will be held on the normal fourth Wednesday meeting
date which falls on 28 June, 2000. There
being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:22 PM. Respectfully Submitted, Albert C. Bradley, Secretary |
